Default ramping?

can someone explain ramping to me? what constitutes ramping and what does not? Is it when more than one tire leaves the ground? Is it getting over an object at a faster pace than others? Is it flying through the air over other crawlers? I really want to get some details on this rule because of my new found speed addiction.

I'm new to the board, but ramping would be stacking rocks on course in order to make an obstacle easier to make it over, that is just a guess from someone who has not been to a comp yet, but gettin real serious about buildin a TXT based rig.

so if i took a little speed to get over, like stand the front two tires up at the top of the hill? it would be ok?

yes you can jump the whole course if you want... insteatd of "ramping" it should be rock stacking or helper rocks or whatever... you can't pick up a rock and place it under your tire to help you climb the obstacle

placing rocks would be straight up cheating.

"oh, its too hard. let me just dump a load of gravel on it"

If i can jump the entire course at full speed, then why arent more people gearing higher with higher torque motors?

Becauze the course has turns (at least I hope it dose) and gates even if you could jump the whole thing it would be impossible to do it without going out of bounds or over a gate. besides it's about how good you can crawl not how far or high you can jump........da
