Inner fenders

Should inner fenders be smooth or textured like under coating?

I think they should be smooth, but not glossy.

But rhino-line style would look better on some rigs, just depends on the build

X2 undercoating is not usually installed at the factory. It would be alright I just personally think smooth but not shinny.

Flat black
Textured attracts to much dirt. Next thing you know the fender is mud not black.

I am going to try textured first. Then If I don't like it I can make them smooth.
Personally I think textured is better.

I say smooth. I am going to try some on my truck soon.

Good Luck!

Not trying to hijack but empty quarts of oil work well for scale fender wells.

Not a bad idea got a pic?
Mnster was using pvc end caps in the bed of his trucks.

I used textured paint for plastics on that. It looks great."thumbsup"

For inner fenders I was looking at paint mixing cups or jugs to cut up.

I plan on putting some inner fenders on my current build. I have seen people cut up and use extra stock TLT and other tires they have laying around that fits in the wheel well.

thats freakin awesome, definately going to be using this! needs to be in the tips and tricks sticky too.

Mad Scientist 01-17-2008 06:47 PM

I vote smooth. Textured may look alright, but just be sure the texture is scale, too. If it is too rough or bumpy, it won't look right.
