| How to Make TAMIYA 1/10th Scale Snowboard even more Scale!!
Hey all, I picked up a new Tamiya 1/10th scale snowboard off or Ebay because I am a snowboarder and thought that it would be a nice tough to my LR3. BUT when i got it in I was not to happy with the choice of board decals. So me being a Burton Snowboard fan i went to there site and looked up some sweet (expensive lol) Burton snowboards. then I googled the ones i wanted and saved the image. I adjusted the picture (shrinked it) in MS paint and printed it out on clear Sticker paper. here is what I ended up with. It was inexpensive and I had a great time doing it myself. (note: I need to do 2nd board and paint bimdings to be continued) 1st one (Burton VAPOR "the dream machine" Retail $999.95) 2nd one (Burton BULLET "All mountain Heat, even with Shaq feet" Retail $299.95) the board the bindings Tamiya Tundra Snowboard stickers I got with purchase. my Idea for my boards. the paper the printout I Made mine just a little bigger you will see why in a min. TOP Bottom Top bottom (I do not have a Laser printer so in order to not have my stickers smudge i do what everyone else does and use packing tape over the printout.) then I cut then stick a little at first. (use non sticky part to line up the sticker then stick the pealed part down first) then peel the rest and stick all of the sticker down and smooth out. Then start trimming the edges with some scissors to cut the edges clean. Now I still need to figure out what color to paint my bindings. also the straps. (here is a mock up) even looks waxed. Check back in a few days for the finished result of both boards. while you wait,,,, Go try it yourself. Its an easy inexpensive and fun way to make your boards more scale. There are a million diffrent board designs to choose from the possibilitys are endless. Make one and post some pics of yours. I would much like to see more snowboard pictures and even ones mounted ontop of your RC truck.! take care. Brian |

well I finally finished the snowboards. lol take a look. 1st i glued bindings together. and stuck them on pop-sticks to make easier to paint. Then I air brushed them all black then dabbed a little bit of silver onto the buckle haha then stuck bindings down using the thin doulbe sided tape the boads came with. then thats it!! Done and a few shots next to the rig. so thanks all for watching the progress. and thanks for all the good comments! take care. if you have any questions let me know. peace! |

I save a logo i want. then Open it in MS paint. then click on Image (at top) then Click Resize/Skew then in there I scale it down by percent where it says resize. I just keep trying till i get the size i want. like if its huge i do like 25 and 25 then the image will be 25% of what it started as. lol try it out its easy peasy. I always use MS paint to shrink my pics from my Digital camera. Because they are soo huge. I usualy bring them down to 25 or 30% of there original size. make sence? | |

| Youve never heard of Bataleon?? they dont make near as many boards as burton but look into them, they have triple base technology which makes it almost impossible to catch an edge, not to mention you can bend it in half |

Dude, thats just slick. I love that idea, and great job on the boards. I can see someone just slicing down a mountainside on one. They look great. |

I have been making stickers for my Touring Cars for a while, instead of using the tape to protect the image, you can use a spray lacqure, a few coats and you are away
