cheap shackles... Not sure if this has been done or not.... I was at the hardware store looking for some things for another project and happen to come across these and gave me an idea. Picked up some large cotter pins, cut them down, spread them apart just a bit.... http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/w...0605092000.jpg Then drilled and tapped a 4-40 hole to use an allen head bolt... http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/w...05092010-1.jpg Cost was about 20 cents each for shackles! |
That is an AMESOME idea!!! They turned out great, way to think out of the box. |
Great idea!! I'll be trying that tonight! |
Wow Good idea."thumbsup" |
brilliant! |
Something that has been missing.....well done"thumbsup" |
Thanks guys. I couldn't believe nobody has made a scale shackle on a production level! RC4WD said theirs will be available in a couple weeks. I think these came out pretty good though, I think Ill have to make some more to have on hand. The good thing is that there are a ton of different size cotter pins, so you can make any size you want. Wow That why some people get paid the big bucks. |
Very nice. ;-) |

1st class idea, excellent. You are too clever for one person, should've been born a twin. |
