I have put together a trailer to tow my New hilux truggy behind the tray top hilux .....

It tows very well and the losi wheels give it a nice ride. It also has about 1/4 inch of travel in the front axle .

Default trailer build plans?

im sure there is a thread but im both lazy and impatient. the title says it all. im looking for some plans to build a trailer and although i am very creative and mecahnical it would be nice to know if someone has existing plans to build one...kinda looking at ideas rather than just buying one, want to build it myself that way i have a sense of accomplishment since im that kinda person. thanks in advance.

Even a lazy person can look on the first page of the Scale Accessories page and find the thread dedicated to trailers, maybe even read a few posts and god forbid look at all the pictures.

There are some very creative, and realistic looking trailers in here, and I have to commend the ingenuity and craftsmanship of those who built them. But out of them all I only saw one that uses a Pintle Hook and Lunette Ring. Is there a particular reason for that?

here's a new update, I started building a HD trailer for the Jeep. I've seen a few in here so I didn't want to copy anyone elses work, so I started by measuring out something that would be a bit narrower then the tow rig ( Jeep), I wanted a leaf spring suspension and a HD axle. I haven't decided if I'll make it into a cargo utility box or maybe some type of pop-up shelter, my driver whines as much as 'survivor man' when he has to sleep on the dirt!

After a bit of measuring I came up with a 3' x 5' trailer, this allowed me to not have any wheel wells inside of the cargo area and it's still not as wide as the Jeep. The frame is all brazed together so there's no hardware to come loose and fall off on the trail! The axle is the second one that I've built, the first attempt was in a different thread in the 'general scaler' section, I managed to destroy one of the spindles while trying to make the axle wide enough so I had to start over again today.

Here's the basic frame.

Here's the HD axle, I modified some CAC hub adapter to use bearings so that each tire can spin freely.

Here's everything semi-assembled so I could get an idea of the height of the hitch. I still need to make some shackles for the rear of the leafs.

This is a fun project, it should be stout enough to survive being bashed into rocks without breaking!
HEy! i was wondering where u got that hitch on ur truk. i am going to make a trailer soon. and i am planning on a hitchlike that

So many sweet trailers posted up here. Here's my take on a utility trailer. I also included the build link for my trailer and camper.

That Whitebone is a work of art and looks pretty capable.
A lot of nice work on here - trailers especially bring out build talent as these are typically scratch built projects.

Here's my recent build - trailer is 34" long

behind my F350

hitch detail

full lighting

and interior

master suite

Made RCCA recently too

This was a blast to build, I'm working on a 41' 5th wheel toybox next - to many truck already.

3SPDREKR - I'm amazed at your build every time I see it. A really great build with so many details. One of my top 5's for sure.

That Whitebone flatbed is what I based my trailer on. I wanted the same thing but without the gooseneck hitch. I scaled up my dimensions and had Dinky RC build it. I just didn't have the time or space to build it, and he did an amazing job. It's already in this thread somewhere.

Edit: Those are pretty old, here are some updated pics.

Complete build, details, parts details located here: DSD's Tundra build thread w/ trailer **NEW PICS 5-17**
