| 3Racing Winch!! help!
so i was testing my winch for the firt time. i pluged the winch controler into a battery that i use in one of my crawlers....and then i see the wire. IT WAS RED HOT! and caught on fire! what would trigger that?

What kind of battery? How many volts?

The controllers that come with the 3racing winches are half the time no good,I toss it and make my own controller out of a standard servo and plug directly into the spare channel on my receiver.I dont need any extra battery pack,wire harnesses and operate from my radio tq3 with a modded switch. |

I had two controllers burn out in a row on my bench, both were brand new. I'm using an old esc for my winch now with no problems.

Well from my experience with them if you hook them up to 3s they are toast! the controller can only handle 7.4V. I cooked one and the other two that I have I have hooked to a BEC since I run 3S. Lipos, I do realize that isn't the problem for all some of the controllers are just junk but ...

guys there is a easier way just use the stock control but when you hook it don't hook up the black wire to the batt its already grounded on the receiver. this only works if your running all on the same batt
