| cotter pin d-ring/ shackle
ive seen them on a few rigs, just like to know a size they are, what size the screws your using to hold them on with is im gonna make my own if i can find the right size cotter pins and such |

The thread is in here.I tried the steel cotter pins and I had a heck of a time even under the drill press,I would recommend the softer one made of aluminum,still strong enough but easier to drill through.

yea 4-40 is pretty damn big for what im thinkin im just gonna have to get a cupple sizes and see what looks best

I used some 1-1/4" pins. If you dig through the bin you can find some that are more round than others. I drilled a hole through both sides and bolted them on.

I used 2" on my summit. I used a 16p framing nail to round it out and bent the straighter upright parts with pliers. Then I put a scrap of 1/4'' luan plywood between the straight parts and drilled my holes ,works great and very rugged |

I was reading in another thread were softer ones were used and laid on there side and hammered until they had a flat edge,made them look mare realistic and he said didn't take any time at all to do.
