Default Good, Cheap Tow Hook

I'm looking for a tow hook to replace the stock 3racing hook which appears to have durability issues from what i've read. The RC4WD hooks are nice, but a little steep on the price if you ask me. Where seems to be the best place to buy a cheap, strong hook?

Great question, I have been wondering the same thing. It's a shame that the 3Racing winch is so great, and they have that crappy hook on there, and the RC4WD hook looks great, but it is actually a little to big if your going for perfect scale, and the price of it is just rediculous.

So I would like to see some different options also

Same here...

the "hook" that comes on the 3Racing winch is nothing more then a Lobster clasp for jewelery....it managed 1 pull of my 6lb rig before breaking where the thread goes through...they're not meant for a winch.

Here's my current hook...Lol. I stole it off a keychain...so out of scale...but it's the only thing I had around the house to replace the hook that came on it...I want something more "practical" and scale...and I agree the RC4WD ones are too much.

I just had a thought of bending some thin rod...may need a vice and needle nose pliers but it might work...and file it to shape?

I've also seen some people use the leaders for a fishing line....(they'll hold like a 10lb fish..so they should be able to pull a 6lb scale truck)

My truck with my hook...Lol

I'm hoping someone has a link to a scale boat website or salt water fishing site that may have what we're looking for.

Yeah that looks good.

How hard is it to order from that place? I've never ordered anything from out of the country. If someone wants to buy a few of these I will get in on it.

I've ordered from Stefan at Scale Off Road a couple times now and plan on placing another order soon. Delivery to Tennessee took about a week and a half. Great guy to deal with and product is top notch. I too have one of those winch hooks on my rig. and a bunch of his lights, tiedown straps and some other goodies.

I just ordered 2 of these! You cannot beat the quality for the price. Compared to the kong hooks bulk and price these are worth the wait!
