Default Winch wire

I was at lowes today, and i found this 1/16 ( i think) steel wire. It looks perfeect for a winch. It doesnt bend well, and it looks scale! and its 27 cents per foot!

You also could use piano wire or a heavy spiderwire fishing line.

I would use braided fishing line, like Spiderwire as HaPtOAD mentioned, instead of actual wire. It would be more flexible, and won't kink.

Cool winch cable

i found that the cable used on large ucontrol airplanes is very flexible and thin less than 1/16th dia. which is what i use . i used a lead crush sleeve that is used on model sailboats and gives you a good scale look

The only problem with brake cables is they kink fairly easily
