I ordered the batteries and power inverter kit yesterday, and while I had things apart to install a new motor , gears and to wire up some running lights I decided to make mounting plates to mount the batteries to on one side and the inverter on the other side.

When I get the parts then I will make more appropriate sized plates to mount them too and mount those plates to these plates. So many plates, I should be a juggler in the circus

Speaking of plates......

I just made another little plate to cover up the hole in the right side of the trans tunnel that was ment for the battery wires. I have my wires running under the interior.
I also added a fire extinguisher, as it seemed to fit in the space perfectly.

Those are great ideas Landcrab, I was at my LHS yesterday getting some stuff and also looking for some sheets of aluminum but they did not have any cause I'm trying to do the same thing for my batteries too.

A package from Proline came today so I set about making a plate to mount the batteries too. I also decided to get way anal about it and used 1/8" thick aluminum so I could drill and tap it to make and use a battery hold down strap and then two long 4/40 allen heads to hold it all down. Then I very carefully drilled the 1/8" plate to accept shortened 3mm button heads from the underside to hold the battery plate to the other plate.

Tomorrow I will get to mounting the inverter on the other side, and it should be a much less complicated process. THIS was an all day sucker, to get it right. But I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

I just couldn't wait until tomorrow and since I had the saw out I decided to finish this part of the install and I made a plate to mount the inverter.

While waiting to get some advise on how to calibrate my new BR-XL and Holmes Team motor to my radio I got ants in the pants and decided to do a lil nip-n-tuck
I cut and removed the intermediate uprights in part of the rear cage to make it much easier to get my cargo tray in and out. It may not be scale perfect to the real 1:1, but I think it looks pretty cool and it does make getting the cargo tray in and out MUCH easier.

I finished securing the Proline welder and tool box to my cargo tray today, along with a cut down water jug. The tray is easily removed with the accessories still secured on the tray.
