Default scale RTI ramp need feedback

Hey everyone, I'm going to build a scale RTI for "Scale Top Truck Challenge"
But I need some feedback from the scale crowd. I'm going to build it to 30* but I need to know what you guys are running for wheelbase and how wide to make it. So far I'm thinking 16" long and 3"wide with expanded metal for the tread surface. What do you guys think? Maybe I'll make it hinge so I can fold it up and make it with varying levels of steepness. Give some scale rig stats and your ideas.

Sounds Good! I've been wanting to build one also.I think it mite be better at a 20 degree ,Thats what we use at the Jeep meets .Maybe 12" buy 2" WIDE .I run a 12.5 wheelbase on my TJ scaler.

I need to make it long enough for the longest rig.

I doubt that a scale crawler would have more than a 13" WB IMO. The HPI Bronco body is pretty long and needs only 11.75" WB.

I would think a 16" long ramp would be good rckjeep.

I don't think 16" long will be enough. My rig has a total length(edge of tire to edge of tire) of 16.5". I can get a tire flexed up to 8" off the ground....

I'd make the ramp at least 20" long for the over flexy rigs. A 3" wide ramp sounds pretty good.

Looking forward to pics of the build

sry didnt mean to be not helpful but i just thought the idea was sweet.... and i agree with toyo.... and it needs to stand atleast 10 inches high..... for the really flexy rigs to top out...

that's a good point Toyo, I diddn't think about total wheel to wheel length. Thanks RSI, I plan on making it adjustable. So it can be set a 20* - 35*.

it makes sense to make it al ittle longer than the longest rigs anyway just incase something new comes out and to give people something to shoot for.

i agree the ramp should be around 20" long BUT, 3 inches wide is way out of scale, 2" would work the best and look cleaner. seing how the tires we run are usually 2" or less in width, 2" wide would be sufficent. just my 2 cents.

my wheelbase is 12" by the way

Default Rti

Well I got the RTI ramp done. I'll post some pics tonight when I get our digi back.
Some of the NorCal guys saw it last weekend. It's got a 16" ramp at just over 30*.
