Default Scale Tonneau Cover Material?

Hey all,

I've got an HPI 79 Ford body on the way and I'm trying to figure out how to give it a tonneau cover on the rear. Has anyone done this? I've tried e-mailing Dinky RC about the Clod one they sell but I haven't heard back. Anyone know of a specific material to use?

Thanks!

I made a soft cover for my truck once upon a time..

Die-Laughing's Toyota Mojave Drift Truck

Not sure what the material is called, I just went to my local craft store and found it, I couldn't have asked for a better fabric. Nice amount of stretch, easy to work with, tonneau cover "look", etc.

I think I have enough material left to do a few more (incase you mess up) if your interested, pm me.

I can't really offer any tips as to how to make it work with your specific body but, I know first hand that this is some good material for this purpose.

Try checking out your local crafts store, you'll be amazed how much stuff they have that can be used for scale items. They also have a wide range if different fabrics that you could find like faux leather or vinyl:thumbup:

Thanks for that link. Excellent build! Once I get the body I reckon I'll just head up to the local craft store and see if I can find something!
