to mount on the steering column or the hood? anyway, just a thought, maybe try a kc daylighter from a 24th scale kit and print out a gauge face?

lol, sorry, there must be a 24th scale car that has them but im not sure, like an off roader. or maybe a old model a or t ford one of the headlights might work. or mybe the tip of a fat pen, you could cut the end off and make a face for the gauge, then where the hole was for the pen to come out you could run a wire or maybe even stick a small bulb in it

I picked up a set of these at my LHS for $7. They are all metal lights for a boat. The pic here is on a 1/18 body, for scale. I think they'd make killer tach housings.

You should also be able to find a decal sheet or something at the LHS with a good gauge face on it, or find a good pic and attch it somehow. Photoreduced images are pretty popular.
