Made u-bolts earlier.
2-56 threaded rod,axle tube(in my case)1/4" brakeline,pliers(I used hand breaks)(for bending metal flashing).
Cut into 2" lengths

Bend it around axle tube as far as possible by hand(fingers),finish with pliers, etc.
Sorry for the next to pics being blurry. My son took them.

And here they are.

I made u bolts for my trailer too...think i just used 8-32 though. I heated mine up and wrapled em around axle tubing...sweet ones you made without heating em up.
What did use for leafs? Looks like some kind of spring steel?

Sent from a whiskey downer beer pounder's shop

Hey there, can you give us a little how-to on your axles? Like what you used for The shaft itself and the hubs? It just seems like there's a lot of trailer builds, but none go into any detail about the axles, haha.

Ok it is simple.I used a piece of 1/4" brakeline,8/32 threaded rod.
Slid rod inside, brazed it so that it will stay in brakeline. And used regular hexes(will have to drill out the center hole a little for threaded rod)for the "hubs".

Do you have any issues with the whole thing twisting? Being made out of all round tube.
