Default Independent leaf suspension for trailer

Hi everyone,

I am to build an off road trailer with off road suspension by using spare parts.
Having a pair of HPI Blitz steering knuckles, leaf springs from TF2 and front axles from Ansmann Core truck and lots of styrene I decided to combine these all together.
The prototype suspension is ready after experimenting the right geometry to have zero camber when arms are moving up and down.
The styrene is surpisingly strong in this setup.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of tires are those? They look great!

Stock Tamiya BF Goodrich tires coming with cc01 kits like Pajero or Landfreeder.

Good thinking, and the price is right! Will you need any damping? I'm guessing no for crawling speeds.

Now that is an incredible idea. Way to go with the out of box thinking. Big and look forward to what you put it on.

Looks great, but one downside that I can see is that the mounting point is actually higher than the tires, so what about 95mm?? I guess it depends on what trailer you build. No good for vehicle type transporting trailers that need a flat bed. Am I interpreting that right?

You are totally right. The high mounting point is due to the shape of the HPI knuckle, but it can be substituted by a smaller scratchbuilt console that holds the bearings. Soon I will post pics of the box type trailer (under construction) and you can see that a bigger proportion of the bed had to be raised to give enough space for the suspension.
