I forget where I found this site. It's a cool little detail to add to a scale body that's free and easy to create. http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/lic...ic&r=516395140 ![]() There are hundreds of plates from all era's available, and you can make whatever you want as long as it will fit, of course. (well, I did'nt try any profanity or anything, so it may have limitations I don't know about) I opened it in Paint and added the date stickers and screw heads for added realism, then sized it up in some kind of photoshop type program, and printed it out in 1:8th scale. Stuck it to a piece of double-sided tape, and covered it w/ a piece of clear packing tape to protect it and make it look glossy. When I stuck it on the body, the three layers stacked made it look 3 dimensional and pretty realistic for 10 or 15 minutes worth of effort Last edited by Big Mike; 12-06-2006 at 06:44 AM. |

I just did this one for my '73 Bronco body. The improved screw heads, date stickers, and "antique vehicle" designation were added with Paint. ![]() |

I see some people with scale license plate frames. Any idea where they get them?

Make them here: http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/ ![]() Incidentally, I almost made it all the way through the custom plates process here in CA. It got rejected at the final step. I hate it when there is one smart person at the DMV. |

for all the CA guys just go to the CA DMV website and click on personalized plates. you can get blank or test images of any of the personalized plates this state offers - whale tale, yosemite, firefighter, etc...
