Default tlt kit leftover fairlead.

not sure if this is scale but im using it. this is what i stayed up last night making and its really easy.
i just used some parts i had leftover and i dont know waht they are or if they are important. i just built my axles and shocks and all this is leftover
if youve already seen it or done it good for you!
check it out.

its really easy. it took two tries and about 30 minutes of trial and error but it should be faster with pictures.other than the tlt parts you need:
metal
tinsnips or something to cut the metal with.
pliers or something to bend with
punch to center the drill bit. i used phillips screwdriver
dremel or something to drill with
_____
this is what i used. i hope you have these parts. i used two nylon locknuts and four regular nuts instead.

its just some flatstock metal i had laying around. about 7.5 cm x 1.5 cm i had already started bending it before i took the picture. those two long rods are the medium sized rods at roughtly 4.5cm
_____
i started before i took pics so imagine...

i just drilled a hole very close to the edge. (be sure to use a punch type thing so your bit doesnt walk all over the place. i used a small phillips srewdriver.) leave enough to fit the silver cylinder with a little room. measured the height of the silver cylinder and bent it with a set of BIG pliers. hold it in the pliers and then bang or hammer it into a 90* angle.
mock up for fitment.
_____

then i used the spur gear as a template for hole placements. turns out its near perfect. find two holes on the spur gear and mark your metal piece with a marker or something. this is how i did it
mock it all up to be sure things dont hit eachother or your holes wont line up on the other side.

this is what you probably have now.
measure your brass things and spacers. just baaarely over 3cm. mark your measurement. see that wee green mark i used. you may want to drill the other holes now as its flat. i didnt but it may be a good idea or not. its really up to you.
____
i bent it at last step and i had this

i also drilled a hole for the silver cylinder just like i did the other side. mock it up to be sure it wont hit the side and look funny crooked
then i said oh! does it even fit? did i bend it right? and i mocked it up with the brass things.

nice fit!
again i used the spur gear to find proper hole placement and drilled. then i bent the last bend and drilled the last hole. easy! i assembled and viola! i was proud of myself. (it was veeeery late)
heres what you should have

roughly 1.5cm tall x 3.2cm wide x 1.25cm deep. not including the screws. the black screws are your mounting screws and the sliver ones you can probably cut off.

Thanks for the pic, it doesn't look that bad! I made one out of styrene and parts tree's. Its not funtional but it looks like a fairlead. I think once I paint it silver it will look better. Its still pretty rough but I'll post up a pic when i can. Hey Clodstall, where'd you get yours?
