| Scale Vintage Ice Chest
After I finished the scale Yeti Hopper, I wanted to try something a little different. I had an old Dr. Pepper branded ice chest that my grandfather had given me a while back that had a nice weathered look too it so I decided to try that out. I apologize I didn't get any pictures of it off the printer or after priming. I was too excited to start painting The ice chest is a weird light green. I say weird because that's an odd color for Dr. Pepper. I mixed some paint to match that color as close as possible and added the white details on the lettering. I then began weathering. This was my first ever attempt at weathering. I started with washes of brown, somewhat of an orange color, and black. The handle was weathered separately since it was made using a paper clip and needed a thicker paint for the paint to dry on it. I went back after and added some rust spots with brown and the orange color. I'm really happy with how it came out! The top hinges open a little which is what I wanted. I used a piece of shoestring to act as the hinge since it was so small. Last edited by THX_138; 12-19-2018 at 10:04 PM. |

That's really slick. If you get a clear plastic 'card holder' for stabbing into planted flowers, they cut up nicely into scale Ice Cubes to fill the cooler. Any chance on sharing the stl files for it? |

That looks great! Now you need scale ice cubes. Checkout frosted beads.

That came out great and green color reminds me of old Coleman coolers that were actually metal with foam insulation and plastic liner inside as I recall. Good tip on scale ice cubes. Now dig me out a cold frosty beverage! |

Your weathering technique really brings realism to the cooler. Can I ask what you used to weather it with? I am thinking that I would like to try my hand at a project similar to this.
