Sorry, I couldn't resist on the title. The latest build is just that, a wedge trailer. Here is a pic of one version, this trailer build will be a fusion of a few different ones I've seen pics of. ![]() Here is what it looks like so far..... ![]() ![]() I need to fab a few more pieces (I have lefts and rights completed of everything made so far) and then its time to put it all together. |

Looks good so far! What kind of a rig are you going to use to pull it? |

| ![]() Thanks, Nate. I have this thing about 60% done, and am working out what to use for axles. I have 3/16" rod, which I need to turn down to 3/16" for the bearings to slide on, or have tube that I threaded the ID for #10 machine screws. Leaning towards the rod, or perhaps shaft stock, then I don't have to mess with it dimensionally, but its harder material to cut threads. Hopefully I get a chance to mock it all together this weekend, and throw the Bomber and 1 car on for perspective. Tow rig will be this @Mike Flea when done: ![]() ![]() |

Very cool! The tow rig looks amazing too, that cant be easy. For some reason my first thought was ramp truck, I've been watching too much of Finnegan's garage I guess lol |

That's good, it'll be great when you finish it. since you're making the body yourself, will the doors on the utility bed open? Will you be brazing the panels together or TIG? |

Tig for assembly, as for the doors, sides will probably be just panels that look like doors but won't open, simply because microscopic piano hinge doesn't exist. Doors on top will open, they can pivot on the ends.

Thanks ![]() A little more progress, it almost stands on its own 4 (I guess 6) legs without the aid of vise grips. The axle unit is gripped here to allow about 1/4 of wheel travel, I am thinking not, and just go rigidly. Kinda looks like the last pics, but lost about 5 lbs to vise grip weight. I was so desparatley wanting to copy the bed of a car houler tow truck bed, like the 1:1 trailer has, but can't pull that off with thin material, so two strips of grey grip tape for traction is going to be what it is unless someone has a better idea that would work. The trailer deck seen is a temporary piece, the real deal is coming soon, a proper looking ramp connection/storage is the holdup there. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Slowly but surely getting there. There will be a door in the rear where the ramps will be stowed away. About 10" long ramps!! A front bulkhead, then there is the "working" jack arrangement for the front and lighting to work out. A coworker found me the gooseneck hitch stuff I need, gets 30* of articulation every direction. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

A couple more concept pics. I think the truck bed needs to be 1/2" or so taller after seeing these pics. Yea or nay? ![]() ![]() |

Thanks, XJ. I haven’t touched this in a while, debating in my head on what to use for everything else besides the body for the truck. I would really like to see a CEN racing F450 to see if that would work size wise. The dimensional data is close or exact to some of my critical numbers, making life simple. Otherwise, my 2wd Slash is looking like the easiest way to finish the truck by simply building a chassis plate to hit the required 17-3/4” w/b, and mount the body. Build it this route or does this create a blasphemous red headed step child? My thought is you’ll never see the underside or axles and no torque twist going this route. What says the peanut gallery?

a peanut says go lol what you loose in scale coolness you would make up for in performance although since your trailer is a 5th wheel style as soon as you load that trailer up the waight on the rear end should stop the torque twist also you never know when your gona have to drag race your truck with the trailer attached and loaded lol |

| ![]() My equine (horse) vet has a big boat that he pulls to Havasu, with a Ford F350 that has a Cat 3208 stuffed into it, F550 driveline. Impressive truck. He says its quite funny when guys pull beside him pulling their boat and want to race him up a grade. Leaves them in the dust. Soooooo, you never know when a drag race is in the mix......
