How about just give the skid plate section. I know the 90% rule would be insane. But I had a dream!!!!!!

How about to be a tuber no more the skid plate section can use other material that tube or solid rod.

So, if I box in my scx frame, it would then be tube, right?

X2... I hate that a hilux has the abilty to run a full inch wider than my tj...

Would a C2 "max track width" overall be feasible? No matter what body you utilize..

Like 7" max inside to inside of tire for everyone?. Hilux body is 7" wide at doors give or take.

Having to run 6" inside to inside on my tj makes for a super narrow platform. Therfore giving every truck I'm against an advantage due to the fact they can run a wider stance and have a more stable platform.

or is there a bigger picture im not seeing?
i know the rules are made the way they are for a reason but it just really screws jeep tj guys... most other bodies are about 7'' ish from what ive noticed.

just thought i would ask about it.

Would a C2 "max track width" overall be feasible? No matter what body you utilize.. The issue is that people will end up using a 12th scale body on a 12" wheelbase rig. This rule is all about proportions....how many rigs you see running around with the full width of the tires sticking out anyways?

Therfore giving every truck I'm against an advantage due to the fact they can run a wider stance and have a more stable platform. I've seen plenty of narrower rigs that perform great. My Range rover is at 6 1/8" in-to-in and I think it's the perfect width. Just think how much easier you can sneak through those narrow gates than the guy with the wide track width.

So basically that's what it boils down to.......proportions. It's the only way we could keep the track width in proportion with the body width.

Is this kinda what you got going on? I think Trenton is right at max width to be legal.

Yes exactly mine and trents look almost the same... thanks tim for clearing it up I really appreciate it. Thx for the timely response also.

I would just like to go a touch wider.. maybe 6.25 or so in-to-in but can't due to body proportions.

With the monsters as pictured its just outside the 6" mark. this is my favorite setup but cant use it...

i have the same issue with my c2 trail ranger based build. the body is just barely over 6" wide at the widest section of the doors.

right now the insides of my front tires are pretty much flush with the doors, track width of around 6 1/8".

hopefully if i was to enter this rig at any comp there would be a little forgiveness given to it considering other builds with wider bodies can have a substantial increase in body & track width.

First one looks like a single row cage.. second one Maybe it looks like it might have complete tube work under the hood to.. Pictures are not very good to give any kind of answer.. Neither look to be legal for any current class.
