Looks good, nice job again guys! ![]() I like that winching was bumped up to 2 pts. Locally we're going to penalize 3 pts. just to deter folks from pulling out the winch without even trying or attempting a section/obstacle. |

Could I get some clarification on this one: All vehicles should have the motor, transmission, and electronics covered and hidden when viewed from the top and sides. Batteries must be chassis mounted and should be hidden from view. This sounds like it excludes body mounted battery boxes. I have one of the tool boxes from one of our vendors mounted in the bed of my Hilux that holds the battery. I have seen many people use ammor boxes in the beds or on flat beds for the same thing. This rule seems to say that the battery has to be seperate from the body and has to have the Battery box/battery skid/bare battery strapped on the chassis? |

Basically what it is saying is the battery can not be mounted to the axles. Having it hidden in the box is good! |

Thanks for the quick response, but knowing some of the sticklers for rules, could we modify that line to read: Batteries must be chassis or body mounted and should be hidden from view. Or am I being too anal about this? |

another question, if this thread isnt appropriate i apologize. class 2 tires - the rules just say sniping and cutting is allowed, but can they be cut and shut as long as they fit the height requirements? |

I know this is going to sound weird, but what is the official definition of a boat side? Example: I want to add a plate from the bottom of the frame to the lower outer edge of the cab that will not change the cab structure, position, or dimensions. Would that be considered a boat side or a skid? Usually when I think "boat side" I think modification to the cab/body to gain clearance, so that is why I'm asking. |

A boatsides is where you remove material from the body and replace it with a plate skid to gain clearance. We could define everything in the rules.....but I don't think anyone wants that. That's what this thread is for....question away!
