Default Class 1 tire question

Ok I can't find the info I'm looking for..... I would like to know of anyone has ran the 1.9 Proline Super swampers in class1? I know the specs say its like 4.30" but I have a set of 1.9 baja mtzs which are 4.19" which is the limit for class 1 and my swampers are the same size maybe even a hair smaller..... What has been the word with them, are they allowed or not? Any input would be appreciated!

They are a class 2 tire. All class designations for tires go off manufacture's specs. Its the only way to do it. 5 guys could have the same tires but run different foams and all could be different heights.

Rules say:
"No external tyre modification."
Is redusing a 1.9 tyre to 1.55 allowed? Of cource the end product needs to be no taller than 4.19". What about class 2?

On a side note. If you want big tyres for class 1 get the Imex Swamp Dawg.

Manufacturer says 4" diameter. I measured them at 4.75" on a widened 2.2 wheel.

"No external tyre modification." Means just that, running a stock tire as it comes out of the package.
Class2 allows you to cut and sipe the tread but not make your own tires. aka - cut and shuts

Couldn't find my answer anywhere else, so I'll dust this thread off and ask here. Is running a 1.7 tire on a 1.9 wheel legal in class 1? Thanks

Yes, tire size dictates classification, wheel size doesnt matter as long as it is no bigger than 2.2 in any class.

I didn't know because it could alter the size of the tire. I know modifying tires is illegal so I wanted to double check. Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm building a TF2 for class 1.
But i'm setting it up as a dualy tow truck with 1.7 Semi Truck Wheels and Mud Thrashers 1.55 tires
that come stock on TF2. From what i have been able to find i should still be ok for class 1
I just have to make sure i have tires covered by the fenders.

Any other info would be greatly appreciated

Yes, as long as you use 4.19" or smaller tire and yes must have minimum half of the tire covered for both front and out rear dual. But the more tire coverage the better.

Thanks R2j That's basically what i have found out as well. I'm trying to cover both rear wheels and have them not rub at all when flexing side to side.
Tires i'm using have a Outer Diameter of 3.67"
I also know gates will be 11inchs and with my offset i will be at 9 1/2 to 9.3/4 inchs wide
