I would think everything before the grill would be part of the bumper. Grille guard, stinger is all bumper parts..

Would a dog be considered a 3rd or 4th passenger?

No maximum length rule, but I think there is a happy medium between the two, you give up turning for climbing ability but to each there own.

A question:

Do you get -1 or -2 for the cage on a stock dingo?

-1 for plastic per each row of seats or area where seats would be? Is the space behind the front seats considered as "area where seats would be"?

Another one:

Apart from the headlights and taillights -2 what about additional lighting? Spotlights, rocklights etc. Are they functional items or realistic exterior items. Or is it just -2 for all the lights just as long as you have the mandatory headlights and taillights?

I was about to post something similar for the JK.

This is a torsion style chassis I built to allow a truck cab and bed to flex independently. Would this be legal under SORRCA for a Class 1 build?

Front and Rear Sub-Frames tied together with S.S. All-thread. Chassis swivels on the all-thread and uses a spring steel hacksaw blade as a torsion spring.

I would have say no, especially for a Class 1 (although we may have to discuss it) Something like that is REALLY pushing it. Class 1 is supposed to mimic a street driven truck.

I hear what your saying, but heres some food for thought...

Although my method for replication may be different (RC vs. 1:1) the end result is the same.

Dodge Power Wagons had a frame similar to this in the old days.

Granted, in the interest of full disclosure, Its not a Power Wagon I plan on building....

I wanted to replicate my friends truck with a broken frame. This is the only picture I have, but the cab and bed would twist almost 12" to 16" because of the rusted / cracked rail.

The issue with allowing full replication of any full size vehicle ever created is the fact that every thing has been made. If SORRCA allowed everything that has been done in the real world there would be no rules, and MOA rigs everywhere.

The rules need to draw the line somewhere even if it is contradictory to some real, but rare, vehicles.

I've seen a Power Wagon like that. I believe it's called the Willock chassis. Very cool for its time. I'd love to see an rc version, whether it's a power wagon or another truck. And hats off for the creative ideas!!!!

Ive never seen an MOA 1:1 , don't be scared.
Rules are made to be bent twisted and tweaked (or torsioned haha)
If it fits in the rules otherwise It would pass tech at my events any day.

Default 2014 scale rules discussion or question thead

Would a drop bed on a bronco get drop bed points or SUV cargo area points? I realize that a bronco is an SUV but there is no difference in the work involved installing a drop bed in it as opposed to say a hilux - one just lives under a (in this case removable) top

Why are the gates so tight for a stock Wraith? Being this is the only class legal for the Wraith in box stock form, wouldn't it be beneficial to somewhat understand an 11.3" stock width truck will be at a disadvantage compared to another truck much narrower?

When you have a rule set, it should not single out a RTR kit as "oops sorry, you better go buy some parts to help or drive completely differently than those with narrower axles".

RTR kits made to fit a class perfectly should be the a basis on a class, not at an immediate disadvantage. To draw in new blood to the hobby. Without new people this hobby will stagnate and slow, and we know its happened before in RC Crawling.

Also, as this is a Scale rules, shouldn't we follow 1:1 rules a bit more than we do? It appears the USRCCA holds closer to real rules.

A point out/time out standard penalty is normal in 1:1 crawling. This should never be based on another driver as that could really manipulate scores. Yes it should be higher than USRCCA or WERock's 40 points so people can still run hopefully the entire course, maybe 100 points.
