Default Why do people put beer kegs on their scale rigs?

I know from experience that if you bounce a keg around out wheeling you don't get anything out of the keg but foam for days after & when you do get a beer it's flat. In a scale comp, unless it's used as a gas tank, a beer keg in a scale truck should be a penalty because it is not realistic to go wheeling with a keg of beer.

it should be a penalty to pack a sleeping bag in the winter without a tent and firewood too. And if you don't bring water then you will die, another penalty.

Can we start a penalty scale items rule? Like if you are competing in illinois and your clip isn't removable from the toy guy and stored in a separate location, then you should get scale penalty points plus a big fine and jail time just like the real thing.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I think I'm wrong because back in the early 80's when I was an inexperienced drinker & wheeler I tried to take a keg on a wheeling/camping trip so I guess it is realistic to see someone without experience to try & go wheeling with a keg. The best way to take beer wheeling is in a can {because bottles break} in a cooler that locks. I have seen people forget to bring their tent camping & as far as firewood, we always gathered ours up after we set up camp & in a lot of states it's illegal to move firewood across state lines for pest control you should always get your firewood from the spot you are camping but I do get your point about penalties.

And I don't understand the scale drivers thing either. It's not like they're real small people that can even drink the keg beer.

There should be a penalty for screwing on more scale items than what you see on real trucks. In keeping with modeling after real vehicles, I used to go 4 wheeling all the time, never carried half the shit people cram their rigs with...and neither did other people I wheeled with. A jack, spare tire, offroad lights, fire extinguisher, cooler, and a tow strap...maybe extra fuel cans. Done. Who actually carries beer kegs, propane tanks, sand ladders, air tanks, shovels, pry bars, and all the other crap that's available on their truck? Nobody I know.

I guess it depends on what you're doing with it.

True, but that's just friggin rediculous. But running with stock tires can get you in the shit quick. I ran 44 x 19's on my ramcharger...rarely used 4wd.

Good looking rig but why do you have bungee cords that run from the roof rack to the front bumper ?

A question for the OP:

Is the keg half empty, or half full?
