Truggy or Tube Bed Hi, would someone be kind enough to clarify whether this qualifies as a truggy or a tube bed? I have been going on the assumption that it's a tube bed. https://aliennerd.files.wordpress.com/2016/03/tru.jpg Cheers, Charlie |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Tube bed the frame rails extend past the back of the cab |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Thank you sir. Charlie |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Now to confuse matters a little. Does this qualify as a tube bed and is it legal? https://aliennerd.files.wordpress.co...24973925_n.jpg |

Re: Truggy or Tube Bed OK, thank you "thumbsup" |
1 Attachment(s) Im having this built and it will be using frame rails cut right after the rear link mounts and tube the rest of the way back, what would it be considered? it's still class 2 legal since it has frame rails right? |

1 Attachment(s) Sorry here's a better picture, I just want to know if it having frame rails would allow it to be class 2 legal |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Yes frame rails will make it C2 legel. They must go from the tube rear behind the drivers compartment to the front where the bumper ties to. What he said VVVVV"thumbsup" Left that out detail out. Thanks Tim! |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Frame has to be 3" longer than the wheelbase too. |

Re: Truggy or Tube Bed English ain't my main language so I don't really understand the rules about c2 truggy. It says must have integrated shock mount. Does that mean that the shock mounts can't be mounted on the actual frame? Adding a picture on the frame I'm gona use. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...ceb81e736a.jpg Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Is true truggy does not have frame rails beyond the end of the cab. If there is frame after the cab it is a tube bed, not a truggy. At least that is my take on it, when I tech in trucks for a comp I judge it that way, there are whiners, but rules are rules. Sent from somewhere |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed So for that chassis to be legal I would have to do something like this http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...05fc76aba5.jpg Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk |

Re: Truggy or Tube Bed I am starting to build a Class 2 truck, and figuring out if this would be a truggy (-4) or roll bar with a tube bed and metal shock hoops (-6) . The cab sits to the left so I am thinking that if I make Cut #1 and start the rear tubing from there it will be a Truggy, and if I instead make Cut #2 and start the lower tubing from there it will qualify for the roll bar, tube bed and metal shock hoops (once I make them). Is that correct? http://i68.tinypic.com/2wd2ibt.jpg |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Either one would be a truggy as you need the chassis the be 3" longer than the wheelbase. |
Re: Truggy or Tube Bed Okay thanks. I was curious because the specs for truggy points say there is supposed to be tube work from the back of the cab out, which with cut #2 there wouldn't be 100%. I didn't want to be called out for scoring it as a truggy when it wasn't. Thanks again. |
