Winching Points

Currently you get hit for 10 points for an assisted winch, and 3 points if you use an on board winch to a winch stick/block. How about only a 1 point penalty for using a winch with a winch anchor, and the anchor was attached to natural winch point (no winch stick/block)?

Naturally, if the anchor let go and had to be reattached, it would be another point.

We have talked about making the penalty lower if you winch off a natural object. I really like the idea, but we haven't talked about it in the committee this year. Might be something to bring back up.

I think using recovery gear should be free. You already lose time when you remove them from the vehicle and set them up and afterwards put them back on the vehicle.

But I quess that is just me.

I have thought so too, if you just use everything off your rig, and it all goes back on after the pull. But, I threw out 1 point for just having to use it in the first place.
