Default Ifs/irs and scale points?

I am currently building a rig with ifs and irs and got to thinking why not scale points for ifs/irs from my understanding leaf springs get points for realism and their inherent lack of performance compared to a 4 link truck. Now thinking of an ifs/irs you have all of the limitations of a leaf sprung truck maybe even worse but many many vehicles come with ifs at minimum I think it'd really add to c0 and c1 to have that visually and scale points may get more builders to try and really send their trucks to the next level.

I'd be for it if the 1:1 vehicle was equipped this way, I'd also stipulate it mimic the 1:1 so that guys aren't throwing Tamiya mf01s out there and expecting points. Scale replica fabricated suspension arms would be needed to justify bonus points

As far as performance goes, is argue that there's plenty of performance benefits to independent vs solid axle but that's a whole other discussion

Steven my only issue with needing fabricated arms is most of us don't have the tools to machine a suspension. I've personally been trying to find a rs4 sport 3 for a donor car. Irl I'd agree ifs may have advantages however there are some glaring disadvantages in the scale world. For example most solid axles manufactured have a much better steering angle then you could create on a ifs since a cvd will bind much sooner since it's already angling down then with turning you'd have to limit it more. PS if you are offering your machining services I'd take them for this setup lol

Many SUV's like Subaru are fully independent and get wheeled in the real world. I'd allow them in my comps so long as they have the 1.9" wheel, scale body and look the part. SCT width wouldn't pass inspection. The Kyosho Rage and Mad Bug are about as narrow as an scx with right wheels.

Corwin- look to the drift world for steering options.. they have crazy steering. As far as machining goes, I'd say unnecessary. Figure all the components out performance wise, then mod them to look the part. A little bondo and reshaping can completely transform an appearance. Then take it one step further and scan them and then just have them 3-D printed out of metal

Steven I am aware of the drift emworld the crazy steer angles are from the red cars. And the real question isn't if it'd be allowed or hood to do it but if points for such setups will ever be a thing?

Oh.. doubt it. I have no real faith anything will change on the point spec sheet at sorrca until one of the committee members decided to build one...

That's what I assumed too but figured it's an area that isn't brought up and since.my build will have these features it got me thinking about it
