Default Flaring fenders on a hardbody and the rules.....

Occasionally I emerge from my dungeon and want to play with others, so I had a question. I'm building a scx10ii with a Mojave body, wagon wheels and thin hubs but the tire centerline crosses the flare edge. The bushwhacker flares just don't do it for me. On my 1:1's I just stretch/roll where I need it, so would doing a bit of heat work on my Hilux body to stretch the width at the fenders be looked down on or considered cheating?

I'm not talking a ton...1/4" max

I've been out of the comp scene for a few yrs, figured ide ask instead of showing up with an illegal truck and being "that guy"
