Newbie Class 2 Question

I'm sure this is a dumb one but i am very new to all of this so I will ask anyway.

For 2020 Class 2 rules. I printed out and am reading the full rules. First page says "No bolt on or stick on external axle or knuckle weights of any kind."

I have a TRX4 Sport with Samix Brass Portal Covers and knuckles

https://www.rcsamix.com/index.php/fo...liper-set.html

So these are not allowed in competition? I am pretty sure that is exactly what the rules state but since I am new I thought it would be worth a verification.

Thanks for your help in advance. I had planned to do my first event at Proline by the Fire but perhaps not...

Re: Newbie Class 2 Question

I believe all those parts are fine. Brass portal covers are ok. Just don't bolt on any other/extra brass knuckles weight.

How I understand the reasoning is because the portal cover is part of the knuckle.

Like an SSD brass knuckle.

I'm a Newbie myself so wait to see what others say.

• No bolt on or stick on external axle or knuckle weights of any kind.

Rule doesn't say you can't replace stock knuckles and C's with upgraded Brass parts..

You're good to go.

Hooray!!! Thanks to both of you... I want to try competition but really like the way the truck is currently running. I didn't want to have to dumb it down for an event.

Building a vehicle for comp is different then building one for trail.

I you want to comp with it get the Overdrive for the front and Underdrive for the rear. Get rid of every ounce you can above the axles. Then get a Dremel and shave off even more. A little Dremel work on the front axle can go along way when it comes to steering. Build to the rule set you plan to compete in. If you really want to be competitive the stock TRX chassis is very limiting when it comes to upper susp movement.

if you do Under and over drive and practice you will soon learn you need less brass than you think.

Re: Newbie Class 2 Question

I would say this does not allow to add weights that are not actually functional parts of axle or knuckle - like sticking an additional big metal slab in there.
