TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Not finalized, no name, and no actual mudflap rubber material sources yet (using ECX flap for testing), but working on a new product I hope fills a void. Currently: -Made out of PLA plastic (black, though other colors are possible?) -Made in the USA -Doesn't require the Torque RC SCX10 hitch for installation, so works with stock rear bumper mount (TRC hitch mount installed in pics). I would love to hear comments and suggestions. What would ya'll like to pay for something of this nature w/the rubber flaps? |
Looks awesome! Any rough indication of price? Sent using my thumbs |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Depends on cost of rubber, but I'm hoping sub $20. Ideally closer to $15 (for pair). |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Very cool.Nice work.. |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System i would gladly pay $20 for a set of those. i'd pay even more for a dually flap. |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Unfortunately I don't have a Dually to work with, but I have been thinking about a universal adjustable thing. Just an idea at this point though. |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Very cool, well worth $20. |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System id pay more to have my own design on them but thoses are nice |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System yea I guess they should be adjustable some how, different offsets on different wheels will change it alittle. does it flip around to allow it to move closer to the center of the rig for us shorter wheelbase scx10's? |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Ohio, are you thinking custom designs on the rubber or the plastic? Grave, what do you mean clip around? The final version should have different mounting holes for bringing the flap in, but unfortunately there would still be a small section sticking out if they are are adjusted it. Could be cut off though. Love the feedback and appreciate it! |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Make a male- female unit with a couple small set screws/grub screws for different width"thumbsup" |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Option for different width flaps too |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Or make them like real flaps and have a mount that bolts to chassis- and the bar for the flaps that can easily be removed from mounts for trail runs. |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System flip around. I think there are 2 holes in the back?. so instead of the bar lining up with the back of the rails the brace that goes over the rails ends up at the back and the bar ends up alittle farther forward? I think it might work. |

my preference would be the RUBBER :lmao:i guess it would depend on how hard it would be between the 2 im thinking maybe velcro or small magnets or just have it made on them |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System Like so: you would a "pocket" type mount that's bolts to the chassis that these slide into. http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/y...psa089d0f1.jpg |

Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System you know the chassis mount might not be that important. alot of people with scalers I know run wheel well. a small bracket could be mounted to the wheel well and hold the nice mudflaps out past the body alittle (most scx-10's have wheels that stick out some) |
Re: TEASER: Torque RC SCX10 Mudflap System I think the chassis mounts are important as it will work with any SCX10, guaranteed. I'm not sure most people are running wheel wells, but if they are I encourage them to look into the ECX mudflaps I'm using now. I finalized the hardware today and placed an order on rubber to test out. Did some real-world testing today. Few roll-overs and intense water. Worked flawlessly. The first sample I received was a bit on the flimsy side. I didn't bother to test that one and broke in my hand (as a test instead). These mounts are thin, but much better and look to be strong enough. Obviously more testing to come. |
Are you going to do front too? |
