Default Hansen Dam lunch crawl

SROlmeda, a member here and a local, told me about this spot. Went to check it out today.

Bear with it. The music (all audio) was disabled since its a Warner Music Group copyright issue (Universal Music Group does not disable the audio when they have a copyright issue). Audio swap in progress.

That looks like a great spot. Is it big enough for a gtg?

Also what is the name of the song in it now? I recognize it, but can't think of the name.

Thanks 806!

Froader-Thanks! It's definitely big enough for a gtg. bigger than CDM by a fair margin. And there's lots more to explore that's a different type of terrain, which you can see beyond. There's more water out there somewhere too, lol...
Song is by NIN, Ghosts IX (or XI, or something, lol...).

Nice! Glad you liked it Pantablo. We crawl that spot almost every weekend, good turnout lately from here and other forums so if you're local and would like to come down that would be great, we usually start Sunday afternoons at around 4pm till' late if you got LED's for night crawling ;) Pretty big area for scale runs and it looks like we got some water, the stream has been bone dry for months, time to waterproof again fellas!

You back in town? I thought you were still out or I would have called.
The water was under the overpass...Big spot of water. Great for a trail run and not deep. I'm not waterproofed. The creek will be deep though, lol.

Sunday evenings are not possible for me. Mornings only. You should post up a gtg here and if you do it on a morning I could show. Otherwise I'll see you there one weekday...let me know when you're back, if you are still travelling.

Still out of town man, ill let you know when i get back

If it rains alot, the stream coming down will be pretty strong, you can still cross it with your rig but you're definitely gonna want to be waterproofed, so much fun though! Also at the end where the slick rock is, the water goes around all those rocks to small pools of water, some about a foot deep. Its an awesome spot if you like to play in the water But for those who dont, theres plenty of areas to crawl there that wont get your rig wet

Yeah we can plan for Sunday mornings gtg, no problem. I also don't mind weekdays gtgs, it sucks sometimes waiting ALL week to crawl on Sundays..lol

Good vid Pablo.
I need to get directions to where this spot is. Hansen dam is still close enough to me. Is this spot closer to Osborne and the 210 or closer to the spot The Doc goes to by Sunland and the 210.

I'm down for a Sunday morning run. I just can't do the water though.

Okay SRO, let me know. We'll set something up.

Thanks Eric. This is AT Osborne and 210. Actually, per SRO's suggestion, I parked in a dirt lot just at Clybourn Avenue (just east of the fwy exit for Osborne), then ran the trucks in the wash under the road and freeway to the larger area of rocks. The muddy area was actually right under the freeway.
I can't do submarine runs either but even not waterproofed (on any rig of mine) I can take them pretty deep without problem. I think I can get most if not the entire tire in the water before I get nervous.

Mike has been coming out to crawl with us for a few weeks now, i told him about that spot, ive never tried the one all the way up sunland though but its not the same one, close though.

If you park on that dirt lot where Pantablo said and u go down, cross the wash to the east side, you can crawl that wall from there, under the freeway and all the way down to the slick rock area and then west to the other side, under the freeway again, then u go up a set of dirt stairs and cross the street back to the dirt lot (hope i didn't confuse you guys, lol) We usually start at like 4:30pm and by the time we finish, its nightime already, its a looong trail from start to finish.

Exit 210 at Osbourne. Go East on Foothill until you hit Clybourne. Hang a left and park in the dirt lot on the East side of the street. Follow the dirt path to the East side of the wash. The guys crawl from that end down to the 'slickrock' portion on the South side, under the 210 freeway. This is a staging area for horseback riding, so you'll see a lot of horse trailers and trucks and such.

Where you guys there Sunday somtime around 4ish?

I was on the 210 coming back from the Offroad Expo in Pomona and right at that spot you posted in the map, I saw some guys carrying their trucks down that little dirt path. I remember seeing I think a lifted 1:1 Chevy Surburban in the parking lot right next to the path.
I told my wife "Hey we should to go check that place out, I wonder if there is good crawling there". But we had to get home because the kids had homework that needed to be done.
That's funny, Should have went to check it out.

from the look of the long shadows I'd guess they were there at that time. Funny since I was there a few hours earlier...

Cool looking spot and great looking CC-01

If your getting sick of Youtube not letting you put the music you want in your videos try out Vimeo. You can also rename the song to something generic but your video might get banned on Youtube.

Anyways good work and find.
