Default SCALE ADDICTiON

Do you suffer?

Made a video short to test out a 10-22mm lens. I may use it to take footage at the Axial Northwest Scale Championship this year.
I think that the wide angle lends itself well to scale footage. You be the judge....

Turn on HD!!

Thanks Blake.

So what do you guys think? Does the 10mm angle look scale, or is it too wide?
I'm still on the fence about it. I don't want to buy it if it doesn't look better than gopro, because It cost as much as 2.5 gopro's!!

The only other advantage to a DSLR with this lens would be the still pictures, which is mostly what I do.

Great angle and the perspective is fine. What camera are you using?

I am looking at a 10-24MM but at close to $900 it is hard to justify as I also mainly use my DSLR for stills and a GoPro for the video.

I'm shooting with a Canon T2i.
The lens you're talking about seems to be the Nikon version. The problem with a dedicated wide angle is that you're limited to what you can do with it.

I might try the 15-85mm, which would be a better all around lens.

Thanks for the input!

Youll like the wide angle. I would say that f2.8 may not be enough though.
Look at 3.5-5.6 lenses to get the whole truck into focus.

I like the wide angle, I think it gives the truck a little more proportion. Great video too. Did you slow those shots down at all or were you driving it that slow? It looks real either way.
