| A new twist on the Teeter Totter Teeter Saw, EDIT: Ver 2
I had a giant sawmill blade that looked like I could turn into some sort of crawl obstacle. I found an old differential that fit right into the center. Combined they make a spinning teeter totter. The diff has a bearing on the bottom, that is whats contacting the ground and allows it to rotate. The best part is its unpredictability, you may go straight over if you place the truck perfectly in the center, or it may buck you off the side as it spins when you aren't on center. I may try to scale this up using wood instead. I'd love to see what other folks could do with this concept. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT3ntdQenKw It falls apart at the end, I glued them together afterwards. Sorry for the poor production value, & let me know if this isn't the right pace for this. EDIT: I completed version 2 of the spinning teeter todder which is a lot more challenging, I do need a good name for it though, chime in if you have a suggestion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d4J...ature=youtu.be Last edited by HumboldtEF; 08-02-2017 at 09:35 AM. |

I was going to say it could puncture the tires but then I saw it flips down before it has a chance too and I felt better haha. I have built balance board OK. I didn't build a balance board I took a bare skateboard deck.. filled a 2liter bottle of soda with water and duct taped the crap out of the outside of it. Put the board over the duct taped bottle and instant balance board. Maybe the water bottle trick will work for this? and other things too like a board of wood etc. |

I completed version 2 of the spinning teeter todder which is a lot more challenging, I do need a good name for it though, chime in if you have a suggestion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d4J...ature=youtu.be The top is 3/8 plywood about 40" diameter set at 42-43-ish degrees, there are bearings (lazy suzan hardware) on the top and bottom of the pivot upright. The goal is to get straight up and over cleanly without spinning I guess. I've only managed to do it cleanly a handful of times out of the hundreds of attempts, its pretty tricky. I could see this being setup with a trail on each end and a drop off or water on the sides to punish you. I've updated the first post. Last edited by HumboldtEF; 08-02-2017 at 11:31 PM. |
