Well this rig took first at Crawllapolooza 09.That makes 2 years in a row.

The truck worked great but my DX6 broke and would not center the front steering or throttle on my 3rd course and I went ahead and run finals with it like it was.

I must say this may be the last comp with this truck. It has treated me well for over 2 years but After watching and getting a chance to drive a Super Berg with 300m CVD's if I want to keep up next year I must build a new truck.I would even consider running the Bully axles if they can get more steering out of them but with the way the berg turned I am hooked.

Hey Joe. You got any idea yet what chassis you going to rebuild with? You going to stay with the CFNN?

That I did.
I switched to 4 link in 08 I like how they are predictable. After driving Dave's rig it made me remember how much you can manipulate a torsion.I guess just like everything else there are downfalls to both.

Not sure yet mostlikey Bergs.
I would like to try a set of the Bullys when they get everything lined out with them. But I know what the bergs will do and I am just to broke to try the bullys not knowing anything about them. They may be the best choice but I just can not afford to take the gamble.

What about the gears popping though?

I drove SDS's and I think you can keep the gears alive if you do not go overkill on the tire size and keep some weight on the axle and not in the tires.
There is also the hope that someone will make a better set of gears.

I am only going to run a 6.5 tire that is about 2-2.5 wide so that should help.

I would be all over it myself if someone said for sure if the gears will be made.

I have been beating on mine pretty good and the gears are holding up fine. I think the key is the non handwound motors. I love my stromg motors in the 2.2 but I think the super is manuverable enough to not need them. Also until we get a 10 or 9 tooth pinion the crawl ratio is a bit high so you are not seeing the torque loads th 2.2's see.

With that said when I see some gears its on with the strong motors!

Ya, but thats just the thing, I want torque! I have handwounds, and I like a low overall ratio with higher voltage. My clod has the hot racing low ratio metal gears and hot motors on 3 or 4 cells and its great.

I like it just as much, but I have found moving a 3+ lbs. Lighter car around is a hole lot easier. My super drives like a 2.2. I am running 3 cells on 45's and I rarely need more. With a lower tooth pinion they wood be great, especially knowing I can't drive through third gear teeth.

Now like I said before when I get some 300m gears.......................... watch out!!
