| New Indoor Crawling facility
This is posted in the Ohio thread. This is located in Belpre Ohio. Belpre is right accross the Ohio River from West Virginia. That's why it is posted in both WV and OH. Here are some progression photos of the course. It is about 1/2 way done. It needs another coat of Mud, then some paint. We need to build a couple bridges and put some Plastic up to keep the heat in our area. Probably about two or three weeks before the first GTG. I want to Thank several people and buisnesses for there help and generosity on this endevor. Last Lap Performance...donated some pallets for the base of the course. They are a full race car parts shop and a hooby shop. They also have a great Outdoor Dirt Oval. Carter Lumber...donated some 4x4's and 2x4's and a roll of chicken wire. They are a full line Lumber store. Great stuff for those contrators or do it yourself guys. SpeedyBill's RC and Hobby...donated some lights, chain and other various items for our set-up. He has the best stocked shop in the area. He is always willing to help and will be stocking crawler parts and such. Also thanks to Mark Farra, Chad Lynch, Bill Locke, and Mick Carver for helping with the build. A big thanks goes to OVRCCC for giving us the space for this project, and helping us make this a reality. Okay..enough chit chat. on with the photos. This is how it looks going back into the area of the course set-up. Here is the area we have it set-up. Here are the pallets set-up for the build. Notice the new lights. Table one going up the incline. It will have real rocks all around it soon. Off table one too table two. Table Two Then there will be a bridge to table three. First half of table three. Other half of table three. Can you see the big hole. Dubbed the "Toilet Bowl". Thanks Nostr.[] Then we will have a bridge down off table three to the floor. We should have two or more tables next year!![;)] Last edited by Racer4Life; 01-13-2008 at 06:16 PM. |

Tom the swinging bridge is done. It is 8 feet long. We should be able to use it at the comps this summer too.

We could use a facility like that in Minnesota it's sub zero here right now, boiling water thrown in the air freezes before it hits the ground. Very crawler unfriendly at the moment.

We got a little more work done yesterday. I should say "I" got a little more work done. I layered another coat of mud and used a brush to texture it. Nice addition. I also got all the lights wired up. Its touch to work when it is 20 degrees outside. We need to paint it next week, and then a few other finishing touches and it will be ready to go. Billy made a really cool swinging bridge. It will be a hard item for the scale truck. Should make it very interesting. Our Local Hobby shop has sold 4 AX-10 kits in the past two weeks and has three more on order. The excitiment around this is so cool. |

Ask and you shall recieve. You can see that I added some groves and such in the mud to help for traction. Where we used the plastic on the corner. Well...it was cracking off really bad, so I used some spray foam on it! I guess we will see if it lasts. When we going rock hunting?? The "toilet bowl" was still wet. I didn't add any more to it! | |

You are kidding me, the bowl was still wet. WOW! Looking good. Did you have plans to mud the foam stuff or just paint it? It kinda looks like rock, kinda, in the pictures kind of way. We will have to get together one of these weekends and make a rock run. I would suggest wait for the ground to thaw. You might end up feeling like you are picking up a quarter that has been glued down. When we do go though, make sure to bring a truck to play around with. You know, you have to test these things out. |

I mudded some of the foam. We are all out of mud now. I think it will be fine the way it is. We can paint it a couple colors and then come in with some spray paint and highlight a few area's. Should look really cool. I'll bring a truck for sure! |

The hill looks good. Do you think it is doable in a scaler?
