Well this is my first attemp at a scale rc. Decided to convert my ax10 into a scale version of my own jeep tj. Components used: All standard axial gear. Including shocks. (Didnt want a complete droop setup so I fabed up some extensions for the shock mounts. Seems to work well.) 2.2 Crushers Tcs x-trail chassis Tcs hardware kit Numerous peices of cut up plastic. It will eventually get inner guards and all axial green removed. Going to paint the shell red and loose the Flares. Give it the flat fender look. So anyway this is it so far. Let me know what you think. The Chassis put together. Suspension works well with double triagulated links. Looks messy but all the electronics are just sitting there. Steering damper for that authentic look. Suspension seems to cycle well. Took alot of mucking around to get it to the point of working right. Shell will sit slightly lower when mounted as im going to hack off the flares. |

Going to try and make my Rc look like my 1.1 tj. And then if I get some of these tires it will look even closer to the real thing. Just like my 1.1 Mickey T MTZ's |

Got the guards cut out on the body today. Hacked off the flares. Im liking where the body sits. Just the right height for the crushers I think. Next step is to build the inner guards. and hide all the mess. Any comments are welcome.... |

Got some more work done on the wrangler. Not finished yet though. Lots of scale touches to add. Any opinions or criticism welcome. Last edited by kizzo; 05-17-2008 at 07:24 AM. |

Looks good. Ditch the green rings and paint the winch. Maybe tone down the flex a bit (only if you want to) while you are at it. How's it handle? I'm sure as good as it looks! |

Yeah the axial green is going. Links will be rubicon express grey. Got new black wheels to put together. Just not sure about tires. Look good. But just dont hook up and are very soft. Thinking of trying Flat Irons. As for the suspension: might tone it down a little but it seems to handle really well. Have external and internal springs in the rear. Seems to help out when climbing the steep stuff. Stops it from just flopping over to one side.

Hey kizzo, Might I recomend something. Take the steering damper off and fill it with spacers to lock it out. Then take the short green link off. Or if you have any tlt parts, Take the chassis spacer and cut it down some, run some threaded rod through, and put rod ends on both sides. Looks even more scale since its smaller.

Yeah I like the idea of the steering stabiliser. I will try and find something to lock it out. As for the wheel wells I will put up some better pics of them. I Made them out of plastic chinese food containers. Easy to cut, and I had lots of them. Next on the list of things to do. Paint winch. Going to paint this on outside. And make a soft top, rear bumper and more stickers. |

I think its looking pretty good so far. I would cut off the side steps that are molded onto the body and build your self some rock sliders or nerf bars!

Got all the gear I need to start on my new bar work. The jeep is getting new front bar with stinger. Rock sliders and rollcage. And yes I have already cut off the standard side step part off the shell. Looks heaps better without it. Will post some pics up of my progress tommorrow.:-P

Time for an update. Fabbed up some bar work for the tj. Coilover towers, rock sliders and temporary front bar. Need to tidy up the soldering a bit yet and paint. But you get the idea. Also need to rebuild my front inner fenders. My new sanded down Rock Stompers. Look just like Tsl's |
