That looks cool, I personally would make the bottom narrower.

its just wide enough to fit the WK transmission..and I mean just. I concidered Boat siding it but for what I would have gained I didnt find it worth the trouble.

finally got it pretty well done and took it out for a cruise... Even with the tires not glued, soft rims and about 1" less tire than I plan to run on it, its impressive!!! Ill try to get some video at the comp this weekend.

the only mod for the Wk trans was to put on a clocked motor plate. I purchased mine online but there is a free template avail here on RCC (see sticky) or you can come up with your own design. Otherwise the chassis is a straight bolt in/on for the WK (with your own links of course). Im actually thinking about coming up with a "bolt on" kit so that you could simply bolt your WK axles/shocks/trans in without having to make links or even panels. |

Here are some updated pics. WB is sitting at 15" tires are Zombie Maxx (I think) they came off my first crawler that I built about 4-5yrs ago and sold last year... they had just been sitting in my tire bin. The tires are a little wide and the rims have the wrong backspacing for my taste. The production chassis has been changed slightly, the bottom is now bent in, the overall chassis width is just over 3" but the bottom is now just wide enough to fit an r2/r2d. They are available for $55 shipped to the US and they come with an undrilled skid plate. |
