Default Not Quite a Crawler-New Traxxas Summit: See any potential?

http://www.traxxas.com/products/promo/5610_promo.htm

It's obviously not quite a crawler but has some interesting features. I think this will be more in line to be the ultimate basher.

I like the remote locking diffs and remote changeable final drives from 25:1 to 75:1

Not what I was expecting but interesting none the less.

EDIT by Griz:
Lets talk about what kind of potential there is. If you want to hate on it use the other thread.
Thanks.

Hmmmmm, I see a heck of a lot of potential there. I can see making solid axles using the center diffs and the tranny could be useful for a rock racer or a scaler if it's not too big.

It's not a solid axle crawler but it sure looks like it could be alot of fun, like having an E-Revo and an old school super crawler combined in one truck. I'm interested for sure.

Was that a "4th channel" on that TQ?
Or am I trippin'?!

The driver operated the locking diffs from that black toggle,
And the 2-speed from the standard red toggle.

You are correct, I didn't catch that until you pointed it out.

Looks interesting. Kinda like the body, and the remote lockable diffs are cool.

Default Traxxas Summit Crawler is Introduced

Well the wait is over for Traxxas to hit the market with a crawler.

http://traxxas.com/products/promo/5610_promo.htm

4-channel RX/TX
Remote lockable locking front and rear difs
16.8V waterproof ESC
Waterproof RX case
Waterproof Servo
Oversized 775 brushed motor
Beadlock "look" wheels
New softer compound tires with soft foams
E-Revo Technology Upgrades
10-LED lighting system
Exo-Cage Body
Dual 125oz waterproof steering servos
E-Revo style integrated battery boxes
Integrated Skid plate
"Low CG" design (their words not mine)
2- speed tranny for 70:1 and 25:1 gear ratios for crawling and bashing.

Looks like a killer basher, but I doubt it will take the place of a Hustler build in the super category.

Pretty cool specs, but I really wish it was SA instead of IS. http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...summit5610.htm

I should be able to get a sneak peek at the Ihobby show this weekend.

Some one just needs to develop a SA conversion for it now! I think I will be owning this truck for sure. I feel the hand reaching for the wallet and the CC calling out to me. I also foresee a nice outrunner setup on this...........

That looks like a fun little truck - I wonder if it's within the 2.2 size with length and tires - or if its a 1.9 - I guess we'll just have to wait & see.

I love the fact that it has selectible lockers, that is awesome. On the down side it has independent suspension. Seems like it would pretty good out of the box with those selectible lockers though.

Looks very fun! If I had to sell all off my rc's and git only one, this would be it! It's kind off a jack of all trades, master of none.

I like it I just wish I had the money :-( :-( I used to have an extended chassis bigblock powered tmaxx and I think this truck would make a great middle point between that and an all out crawler.

Far more at home crushing cars than crawling.
