| Petersens 4Wheel & Offroad - "Ultimate Adventure" - FJ Cruiser
Hey Guys, Well Its time to start the next "Ultimate Adventure" Project in the "Fleet" of them that I seem to be building..- LOL - The 2006 FJ Cruiser..!! I just bought the entire almost RTR set-up from a fellow member on here (4RunnerKid), and i just need to finish where he left off, PLUS give my own personal "twist" on this truck..! The pre-painted FJ body is an absolute work of art.. Its an EXACT replica of the real 1:1 FJ paint scheme - "WVB" Did a PHENOMINAL job on it..!! I can't believe how small some of the stickers are..!! Heres the parts rundown this rig has, or will have - -U.A. FJ body (Originally painted and custom stickered by WVB) -RC4WD Rock Crushers -1.9" Mayhem Beadlocks ( Just like the 1:1) -Axial trans -handwound 35T Warrior -RC4WD plastic t-rex 60s (rear already custom trussed w/mounts) -X-trail frame -TLT shocks (turned down into dual rate coilovers) -Hi-Lift bellcrank for "steering box" -LED kit (already installed into lenses) -TQ3 radio w/receiver -3Racing Winch Heres the U.A. FJ body as I recieved it..I still need to make some minor modifications to the wheel wells, and then fab up some custom bumpers, and winch mount. Heres a quick mock-up shot below with the wheels and tires I recieved with the deal from 4RunnerKid - This trucks gonna be Bad-Ass when its all done..! I've currently got like 6 builds going on at the moment, so this one won't be super quick, and I'm NOT going to rush it, but the majority of the hard stuff has already been done for the most part..!! Now its just down to the "Details" STAY TUNED..!!!!! |

this will become a piece of history...i just read in 4wheel mag that toyota is requiring them to demolish the rig because it was a preproduction model. so now 4wheel is going to enter the rig in TTC and trash the s#!t out of it before giving it back to toyota.

LOL - NO updates yet... gonna finish up the U.A. K-10 first, THEN fully concentrate on the FJ.. I really don't like jumping between builds - especially important/rare ones like these U.A. trucks.. All in due time my friend..! |

| Update....
Hey Guys, I FINALLY had some time to get the "U.A.FJ" started this weekend. Heres the big ole pile of parts I started off with.. ( Thanks to 4RunnerKid..) And heres the frame as I got it.. ( He even made up the correct wb jig for this body that worked out awesome for setting the suspension up ) I needed to come up with a way to mount the front 4-links to the T-Rex axle, so I bent up an aluminum mount, heres the beginning stages of it.. I didn't really have all that much left to do once I got the front end figured out - 4RunnerKid got a great jump started for me, and with a few minor tweaks here and there I was able to turn it into a roller in NO time..! I am going to re-paint the RC4WD shocks the same as the 1:1 once the final mock-up is complete.. I also have to make a front "Dynatrac" cover to match the rear below.. ( also check out that AWESOME axle truss Mike made for this truck..! ) And here she FINALLY is with the body mocked up on the chassis.. It will be a tad lower once its all installed, and ready to hit the trails.. Next up is to build the custom "Fab 4's" front and rear bumpers out of styrene, and get them mounted, as well as mounting up and wiring the 3Racing winch.. Then I will have to figure out how to mount the body, and then install all the electronics in the chassis, etc..THEN It will be driveable.. Just to get the idea of how this thing will look with front and rear bumpers, I threw on another "complete" Nikko FJ body I have.. Below you can see how wide the stance of this truck really is.. SO far so good- more to come soon..! Last edited by 51WillysJeep; 04-12-2009 at 06:44 PM. |
