Looks great That's the cleanest install I've seen yet with Flat Irons under a Pajero.

DO you have the weights in the wheels? How much? I have an extra set of them of you want to change things around some. LMK

PS. I liked the green better

Thanks! It definitely has more steering but still needs to reduce the slop. I'm going to get the GPM steering kit so hopefully that'll do it. It actually has a little more flex but it's pretty good.

I appreciate that! I thought maybe they would look too big but they actually look more proportional than the Thrashers. I just don't like too many 1.9s or 1.55s smaller than 4.25" on anything.

Yep weights are in. It's a single complete wrap around each rim.
I'll try em out.
Oh and get yourself one and paint it green!
Seriously get another one so you can compete with it at Little Rock City.
THat's the only time I'll probably drive this one.

I appreciate that! I've got a lot to do to this little rig so there's more to come.

Here it is with the windows, headlights and mirrors in.

I installed an old HPI bumper with a 3R winch. They fir perfectly together. I used some sheet metal to attach it to the front.

Still got pretty good approach.

Nice and snug!

I still need to trim the sheet metal.

Thanks! I've been on a flat black hood kick lately so it was bound to happen.

Have you had much wheel time with the 55t, 2s and 4:1 GRU yet? I ask because we're looking for one for our Pajero and was wondering if you liked the 4:1 or if it was too slow or ?? Just looking for your opinion.

We're currently running an 85t, 16t pinion on 2s and it's not only too slow but stalls very easily when crawling. I'm thinking a 35t, 16t pinion, 2s & 4:1 (3:1?) should be just about right.

I used it a little with a 55T, 16T pinion and 4:1 gru and it was too slow for me. It is currently set up with a 65T, 20T pinion and no gru and I like it much better but it is kind of fast. I'm going to put the 16T pinion in it to see how much it slows it down and if I like it I'll keep it that way. If I were going to use a gru I'd use a 35T or 45T motor and try both pinions to see which is better. It's something I may do as well b/c I have a 35T motor that I haven't tried yet.

Little update:

Well I didn't really want to keep the roof rack. I'll be competing with it so I want to get rid of some of the weight that makes it top heavy. I added some styrene roof rails or whatever you call them. I don't really care for them on 1:1's but it was a way to cover up the holes I had made to attach the roof rack.

I forgot how fun it is to tinker with these little rigs!
I replaced the stiff RC Channel shocks in the rear with some MRC Aluminum shocks. It now has more suspension travel. I also removed a preload spacer from each front shock and stayed with the RC Channels.

Shot of the lower rear.

I had to modify the shock mounts by drilling strait thru the tub and attach a lock nut on the other side of the mount to stiffen it up. The lift under the shock mount causes it to be flimsy so this makes it a little more secure during suspension cycles.

Got my parts in today from GPM! Very good experience dealing with them.

I got the lower suspension arms, upper arms, C hubs, knuckles and steering kit. I will also plan an order in the future for the rest of the stuff they make for the CC01. Well I've got some work to do.

So???? Are the knuckles made to offer more clearance or are they just a aluminum version of the factory arm?

Looks like they're made with more clearance. I'll know for sure as soon as I get everything hooked up.

OK fairly long update, lots of pics.
I just installed all the pieces from GPM you saw a few posts ago.
I have to say that the GPM parts are well made and everything goes together quite nice.

1st here's a comparison pic of the stock knuckle with the mod and the GPM knuckle. They're definitely engineered with steering in mind.

This one shows the steering with all the parts installed. As good if not better than before but with the added strength of all the upgrades.

OK I had these 1.55's on my Sami but will soon be swapping some Mud Hogs for those so I figured I'd see what the Pajero looked like with them on. What do you guys think...Flat Irons or 1.55 Stompers?
Also you can see I've started brazing up some sliders.
