Default The Home Made BMV

Last comp i broke my tuber and always had trouble with it, it also always bottom rubed, so i decided to build a BMV, heres what it looks like so far,

bottom of skid plate, those screws sticking out aren't staying like that,

instead of buying the collors i used ax10, t-maxx, and fj cco1 drive shaft ends, i cut off the connecter part where the joint connects,

Looks good! I always like my BMV2, but I would bend the wires too easily...and finally gave up with replacing them.

looking good but that esc is probably in the worst spot you could find... Maybe a little lower on the rear axle but let see some action shots...

Pretty cool. I am on my second homemade BMV chassis as well. I have the ESC on the rear plastic block. One other difference I did was I angled the axles some more. You will have some issues with the HEAVY driveline angle. I will grab some pics of mine when I get it finished (this week) and see what you think (mind you I am running the stock drivelines still)

Is it bad if the holes for the rods are a little big and it flexes with no resistance?:?

You want the holes to be a touch larger than the piano wire. Mine are cut at 1/32 larger than the 1/8" wire. Less friction causes better movement.

i just went to home depot and got 3/16 wire, when you go there don't ask for piano wire because they will think its a string your looking for, and if your making a bmv they dont sell the collors at home depot.

and yes i kno there not in there , Thanks though

Go to your local hobby store and get some 1/8" piano wire. As for the collars. They will have those there too. They come in packs of 4 I think for less than $2.00 I am into mine for under $10.00 for the whole thing.

You DO want piano wire because it does not bend like regular wire does. It is a bit stiffer, and it retains its original shape.
