So I know nobody wants to see pictures of a stock SCX-10 being built.....BORING!

Always trying to do something new I decided to VIDEO the entire build. Then since nobody wants to watch 3.5 hours of me building I cranked up the speed 32x!

That steering servo seems kind of wimpy! :-P

This should be interesting.

Sweet video

I kept feeling myself being drawn to the gnome's creepy black eyes.

Sweet vid. So what do you think is the skill level of the build of the scx10. I haven't built from parts an rc since hpi came out with there first belt driven on road car. And before that was a Parma pan car. I have most of the tools still, I'm jus curious how hard it's gonna be. I was gonna get a mrc for my first crawler but I'm gonna go with the scx10, I think. Thanks...

Skill level, I would say maybe a 2 out of 5. Axial's instructions are great, and the bags are organized per step rather than per part type. If you have ever built an RC kit I can't imagine that it was easier than this. The only thing easier is probably a Snap-Tite kit

The Axial SCX-10 is my most favorite RC kit I have ever owned. Extremely easy to assemble, however it is time consuming. The build took me about 3.5 hours and this is the third one I have done. These things perform great, look great, and are a blast to drive.

Camera System

The point of what I want to accomplish with this rig is to take realistic scale on-board video. I plan on installing a full dash and whatever else may be in the camera's view. The outward appearance will get lots of attention as well but I may not be as picky as I normally would be.

The camera won't just be mounted in the rig however. It will be mounted on a base that is attached to a Futaba servo. Using the the Futaba 4PK I will be able to control the camera independantly or mix it with the steering. I will post a video of how the radio will function as well

Just some quick shots of the camera mount. Going to fire up the CNC tonight still, my neighbors are too old to hear anyway

Sounds like in interesting idea, and looking forward to the coming video. I think a King of the Hammers in-cab video is in order once running.

Scott and Jake ran my GoPro at the King of the Hammers LCQ this year. So I could get the real stuff and put it up with the scale stuff
