| Scale G-Wagon
Hi all, since I do live in Germany I thought I will have to think about a german scale crawler as well. And since I do have one of these in 1:1 as well, I decided it has to be a Mercedes G-Wagon. With no parts being available I started eith the part I am good in anyway, a CAD model. At the moment it is "equipped with Axial axles, a Cad2Chrome tranny and the rest is custom stuff. The frame is looking not too bad so far, the body will have to get some more work. I am not sure yet how I will build all this stuff, but future will tell! Here were some pics of the Status after the first week: |

OK, after some more (design) work I finally came up with the following: Scale will be 1:8, wheels will be 1.9. I was not sure about that, so I was experimenting some with 2.2 wheels as well. With the large wheels the chassis looked impressive: But with the body the smaller wheels were just right: So, now there is more detail work to be done to get the body and chassis ready... Michael |

| Ipressive to see the body? Or the printer itself? With the printer standing here in my office I know how this thing is working. I just did not check yet how long it will run, and how much (expensive) material it will need. First I have to check details and dimensions to get everything correct here.... Michael |

OK, not much time right now: Looks like the RC4WD Yota axles were the winners here: The body did get some mods as well: So the conceptual stage is getting forward quite OK at the moment... Michael |

Very impressive work! I've spent 1 year driving the military versions here in Greece and man these are beasts, nearly unstoppable and unbreakable. If you actually make a body I'll fly over there and buy it from you! |

these were really impressive in 1:1. I own one and had the pleasure to drive it from home to Dakar/Senegal and back a few years ago. I really love this car, which is the reason why I wanted to build it in the end. And for the body: I actually thought of building it as a kit, so that the parts could be resin casted. It depends if anyone else would be interested in the body as well. But this is something for the future. I will start with the chassis soon, and will then see where the body work is heading. Thank you very much! Yet these sizes I should make it.Or if he may be you would send it over into a 3D file then? Excuse me for the many questions! A képet a Képfeltöltés.hu tárolja. http://www.kepfeltoltes.hu Last edited by Surci; 12-18-2009 at 11:54 AM. |

The kit form is a great idea because this way you can have other variations covered too. | |
