Default 2010 Dorkstar Hybrid

Since building my 2.2" Dorkstar Jeep for Montana 2009, I've discovered a couple things. The first is that the Summit Tranny is the Truth, the Light and the Way. It's provided me with the Go-fastitude I desire from a brushless speed truck and the slow crawling ability of a standard crawler. It'll never break or strip a spur, and although it's fairly large, I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of room for its benefits.

Here's the Jeep for those who missed it:

Dorkstar Jeep 2.2

Second is that as much as I liked my Jeep, it doesn't look right with the light-weight lexan chevy body on it. It was designed for the Jeep, but that body is simply too heavy to compete with...

Using what I've learned from "Go-fast scale," I want to create a truly fast yet capable Hybrid that will satisfy both my Go-fast side and my Scale Crawler side... Think King of the Hammers...

Enjoy the ride!

Thanks,
-Ryan

The Heart of the Beast...Traxxas Summit Tranny, picked up complete off Ebay.

Going to need these to mate the Tranny side of the MIP C-drives with the outputs:

It's going to need Juice! Enter Maxamps waterproof 4200 11.1v Lipo. Runtime!

The wheels and tires are RC4wd 2.2" RoxLox and J Concepts Tense Beadlocks. Sexy...

I'm going to attempt to keep this rig relatively light, which means sacrificing a few things. I'm going plastic wheels and light on the tubing and interior...

Stay tuned, things are going to get interesting tomorrow!

Ryan

Hehe, yeah, that'd be a good way to recycle! I didnt want to take apart my current truck though- I still need a 2.2" scaler for local comps, so this one will use mostly new parts...

You'll just have to wait and see!

I'll be posting one teaser pic tonight, the rest of the build pics will happen some mornings for the next few months...
