Arrow * Official RULES * 2010 MSD Scale Nats, please read *

The goal of this event is to bring SCALE rigs. This is not a USRCCA pro comp. Please keep that in mind.

Street Class

• Description - An off-road vehicle that you would " DRIVE " on the street or to the trail head
• 115mm / 4.5" max tire size with a max rim size of 2.2"
• No wheelbase limit- wheelbase must 'fit' vehicle concept/body.
• 12 Minimum Scale Points Required to compete.
• No max track width. Gates will be a minimum of 11" wide so mind your track width, measure from inside cone to inside cone.
• You may modify any tire that is not on the banned list as long as it fits the CLASS that you intend to run it in. You may NOT combine two different style of tires to make one.
• You must run a complete body, including bumpers, fenders, doors & tailgates. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained, Fenders may be cut, or flat fendered, but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the street. If you remove the tailgate, you must have a complete floor and drop bed. If you want to remove your doors, you must run a full interior. "Iffy" Vehicles must be approved by the Scale Nationals Committee members.
• A shortened or lengthened body is allowable. A tubed bed must have a Functional bed area capable of carrying a full-size spare laid flat (rear fender and tailgate rules do not apply to tubed beds).
• No 4 wheel steer or rear steer at all ! If you have more than 2 axles, the FRONT axles are the ONLY ones that can steer.
• No MOA axles of any kind.
• No " DIG " of any kind is allowed.
• Single engine rigs only.
• Wheelbase is limited only by your body, and must fit in your fender wells.
• Vehicle must have a frame-railed chassis. Tubed frame rails are ok.
• Vehicle battery must be mounted on the chassis. You CANNOT mount the battery ON the steering servo/axle/upper links. The goal is to place the battery where it is not visible for a more scale appearance.
• You may add weight to your wheels, but you are only allowed a maximum of 12 TOTAL oz's. You can put it in whichever wheels you want, but 12 oz is the total. Weight can only be added internally, no external wheel weight is allowed.
• You may only run 1 truck in each class, you Cannot run the same truck in both classes, each driver is allowed one entry. You may NOT share rigs with other drivers.
If you feel your rig is borderline, be prepared to modify it if it does not pass tech inspection. AND/ OR bring a BACKUP rig just in case.

• Description - An off-road vehicle that you would " TRAILER " to the trail head
• 140mm / 5.5" max tire size with a max rim size of 2.2"

DEFINITIONS
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COURSE MARSHALING:
also, after you run your course you will need to hang out for the next driver to help winching or a rescue. just like turn marshaling at a r/c race. and for help with the first driver will be the last person in line, at the time will help. these people need to be ready since it takes time to do the hooking up and un-hooking. so leave the power on and be ready.

GATE PROGRESS:
a gate is progressed when all four wheels make it between the gate markers and receives a -1 per gate. or if two wheels from the same side make it between the gate markers a +5 gate penalty occurs and -1 progress points received. if you take out a gate you must still get two wheels from the same side between where the gate was. must go through the gate in the intended direction first. winching is allowed, and all winching penalties apply.
also if a tire floats over a cone a +5 gate penalty occurs. (SEE BELOW) TIRE FLOATING A GATE

REVERSING:
if a tire rolls back under power a +1 penalty occurs. if on your side or top and reversing like a turtle no point penalty. one free reverse after each gate progressed.

REPAIR:
if you need a repair let the judge know to stop time. you will have 30 min. to repair your rig or radio. a +10 point penalty and a 1 min will be deducted from your run when you are ready to continue.
after 30 min. you will receive a DNF.
if you can fix the problem on the trail time will keep running. you will still receive a +10 penalty, but no time penalty.

ROLLOVER:
is when your rig is on its side or top and you roll it back over a +5 point penalty occurs, no picking up the vehicle, just a roll. if picked up then a reposition penalty occurs. winching is allowed, and all winching penalties apply.

REPOSITION:
occurs when you have to pickup your rig for any reason. you cannot progress farther than the point where you progressed with your rig. the judge will let you know where you set your rig down is good or not.
and a +20 penalty will occur.

TOUCH:
if your rig rolls and hits your person or another person or you touch it for any reason, or drive into your foot a touch penalty occurs +5. except for hooking or unhooking your winch line.

WINCHING:
you may touch your rig when hooking or unhooking the winch line without penalty.
if the winch line breaks or unhooks and you have to re hook then another winch penalty occurs.
if the winch line hits a gate then a gate penalty occurs.
if you touch your winch while winching a touch penalty occurs. (ex. after you hook up the winch line and ready to spool in the line, no finger guiding of the line.)

TIRE FLOATING A GATE:
if a tire floats over a cone a +5 gate penalty occurs if you proceed forward thru the gate. If you start to float the gate and reverse back out then no gate penalty, but a reverse penalty will occur. A body leaning over the cone will not occur a penalty.
