| Micro Mog
Well I am already tired with my Micro Range Rover sport that I built about a month ago so I decided to order up a unimog 1300L model to see what I can do with it since mogs are my favorite crawlers in 1:1. Its a 1:35 model so I am skeptical if the body will fit right with the micro crawlers axle width. If the body fits then I will build myself a new scaler and if not then I will have a sweet mog model sittin on my shelf . Anyways I havent been able to find any real dimensions on this model online so I will be posting dimensions for anyone else who is interested. Stay tuned for updates Heres the model I ordered for a little teaser shot. Sure hope it fits! |

Well its been a while since my original post but i have made a little progress since then. I got the 1/35 mog and it was drastically too small for the project so I bit the bullet and got the 1/24 revell unimog for the project. Anyways I got the kit last thursday and a week later its starting to come together. I would love to someday build a set of portals so its a little more scale but thats a future project. Still have to mount the electronics and build a bed for it to finish it off. Anyways here are a few pics for now fresh from painting. |

thanks for the comments guys. I look forward to driving the piss out of this thing haha. Alex_Core i dont know if I understand your question. The goal of the project is a military mog built into a moderate crawler. I'm still deciding on the type of bed i will build for it. since there is so much weight up high with this rig I plan to shorten the front springs just a little bit, add weight to the wheels to shift the cg lower and add washers to the inside of the wheel hex to widen the track width just a little to fit the body better.

the kit i built it from is the fire one. I got a fair deal on my kit but some people want ridiculous amounts for them. Well I am absolutely disgusted with myself right now. I took the mog out for its maiden voyage and wouldn't you know it, 24 year old plastic can be a little on the brittle side when the truck rolls over for the first time :-( it is very fixable but now I am very worried about other parts on the truck giving out on me. definitely bummed out at the moment. |

that little mog is awesome... but I think your carnage picture is f^%$ing great I laughed my ass off... then cryed. Great work too, bad she broke. I think you need to do a brass frame.

| I thought it was a pretty funny too. I couldnt even believe it when i watched it happen lol. I am going to attempt to fix and reinforce the plastic frame since it broke where I drilled for the top links therefor weakening it. but yeah I will beef up this frame and if this is an ongoing issue I will have to go ahead and fab up a new metal frame to replace the plastic one.

Man that sucks! I'm in the process of building up a model kit too, and would hate for it to crap out with all the time invested in it. But that was a great build you did.
