If you're gonna run it hard, use .060-.100 for the structure and basic panel work, and .010-.020-.030 for the details. This one has nothing in it thicker than .030, but only because I ran out of the thicker stuff.

Some progress today:

The mis-matched door. Might do a naked door panel inside.

2-tone interior

Found a driver. The trench coat is a bonus; it'll cover up the giant trans hump.

Got started on the dash

Some detail lettering. I know it's supposed to say L T D but I'm taking artistic license.

More great progress classic Country Squire gold gotta love it the other color I associate with that model was a metallic green but at least 50% of them had to be that gold.

I am told that "pistachio" is a kind of green, rather than, as I perceived it, a kind of beige.

However, it's the sort of green that somebody, in 1972, would think looked good with gold. So it's staying. Besides, it's beige to me

There's always that one AC vent that won't stay up.

Some more paint outside

Bits added on

Door skeleton

The wood is pretty easy. Lay down some flat brown; while that's still wet, go over it with red-brown and flat black. Don't clean the brush in between colors, just keep blending. It takes practice but it's simple once you get the hang.

Working on interior details and fixing the grille.

Last night's update:

Time for a test fit:

Needs a couple tweaks but I'm pretty happy.

Put some clothes on the driver

In the immortal words of Marty Feldman, what hump?

Dash ready for detailing

Door handles, carpet, etc

And an ugly Ford steering wheel.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Harry Houdini, David Copperfield, Chriss Angel. Who??? I didn't believe in magic until I started lurking around the scale crawler forums.

Meet the new grille, same as the old grille:

Doubled the number of crossbars to make it look more 72-ish.

Completed dash. I hope that warning light isn't serious.

Side glass installed. The rear ones didn't even need any glue

Dash, steering wheel & dash buddy

Interior tub is permanently attached now

Front body mount

rusty baby Moon cap

missing headlight. Why is it always the drivers side high beam?
