Pro arena truck

well after i finished my scale truck i still have the itch to build

so i decided to flex my fab skilz and build something a little different a pro arena truck similar to what you would see racing inbetween rounds at a monster jam or 4 wheel jamboree event

basicaly a poor mans pro 4 race truck

it will be a combination of a mrc and a losi mini lst
and ofcorse toped with another blazer

the tires will tuck nucly inside the body to look as scale as possable

well i had to flip the lst gearbox to get everything to move the right direction

and when i went to install the lst diff into the rear axle i was disapointed the the axles wont fit in the side gears if anyone has tried this let me know how you made it work

I was considering doing this to my MLST as well.

Why are you dropping the MLST diff into the MRC case? yes they are the same Ring and Pinion, but the axle output cup on the MLST is a different shape than the MRC axle.

What you will need to do to make this work is buy the metal lockers for the MRC and put them in the back, and either mod the front ones, or glue-lock (jbweld, epoxy, etc) the diff gears for the MLST diff.
Or, just keep the MRC axle complete when you swap it over to the IFS rig.

Also, are you going to be using any wideners for the MRC axle to get it the same width as the MLST? and... The MLST uses an M3 threaded axle stub, but the MRC has the more common M4 stub, are you just putting the other pair of MRC stubs in the MLST Hubs? (They fit, you might as well)

I think the reason I haven't done this yet is the MLST has some pretty weak components, IE dogbones, that couldn't even stand up to stock components. What are your plans to beef that up?

I want to see this work because I want to make a 1.9 IFS Tracker with the same components (I might just lock-out the rear axle for now though) but I don't think it will stand up to much abuse.

well since this will b a race truck and not a crawler i want an open diff in both front and rear so will have a decent turning radius


i am going to be makin new front a arms to narrow it up to the same with as the mrc rear axle and allow the tires to tuck into the body

not sure on the bones yet

i will prob have to build the from scratch because they will b so short

well i messed up when i layed out the wheelbase so i had to shorten it 1 inch and move the front suspention back and relocate the motor

Wait....Why was this moved???? It's a 1.9 scale rig.The 1.9 scale rigs in the 1.9 section aren't really crawlers either.Their trail trucks that can do "some" light crawling. I feel this is a perfect example of a 1.9 scale build.It's unique, well planned, and will be very 1.9 scale when complete. The only reason I'm saying anything is. I think that this truck will be a big influence on alot of builders. I know I liked the idea of the independent front suspension in the front VS a solid axle.That idea would make for a killer 2wd trail truck to give it that authentic look.Or a 4wd truck that doesn't use a solid axle on the real truck.But it being in the "Miscellaneous Noncrawler RC's" section will hurt peoples chances of seeing it. Plus there are other rigs in the 1.9 section that aren't crawlers either. But anyway that's just my opinion.
