| My "Bruised" clod Chevy *new run pics*
Thanks to 1badxj I scored some Ground Cruiser wheels. I originally bought them to put on my CC01 wrangler and then put the 1.55 wagon wheels on the Chevy. But it looks like almost every Chevy has the wagon wheels and then the offset of the ground cruisers were to narrow for the Wrangler. So on the Chevy they went. The truck is now considered old school-Bruiser frame, tlt axles, stampede tranny, traxxas shafts. Truck is full leafed with 3/4 elliptical in the rear. Damn that's some flex for a leaf spring rig! The 3/4 rear seems to work great. Those wheels fit that truck well.

It does have some problems with that much flex. The rear end likes to suck up under the truck when alot of torque is on it, like climbing hills. I added some supports that go from the front of the leafs to the top of the axle to help eliminate it. And the front I lose some steering when the wheels are stuck between rocks. Frame will move side to side, because the leaf springs take up alot of the steering. Need to make a panhard bar for the front.

Can I get some shot's of the rear-end without the body mounted? Your truck look's real good. |

The taller 1.55 tires have some serious side wall flex compared to the 1.9's. The tires worked great compared to the old 1.9 Crushers. I put on a flatter rear spring to run the 1.55 tires, but then the shackle angle was to horizontal. So the quick fix was to lengthen the 3/4 elliptical spring to level out the shackle. Well it created some serious axle wrap from the upper spring being to long now. And this is with the support rod from the axle to the front leaf mount. I think I have to move the 3/4 spring mount forward to shorten the 3/4 spring. |

Finally got around to adding a few more scale details. Added wipers from a High Lift, Mirrors are from a wrangler kit (might be a little too small) , I was never to fond of the bigger stock looking Chevy mirrors that most people run. RC4WD fairlead and winch hook. Reign antennae with tennis ball. |

I also cut the bead on the tire thinner so it would fit in the groove of the rim better. I just pulled the bead back a little and then the glue will run around the bead. I also had acetone and some q-tips handy just in case there was any runoff. You just have to wipe it before it dries. Just a few drops of glue will do it.

| Not sure what they are from, bought them used out of the for sale section. I think the are RC4WD Bruiser replacement leafs. I just flattened them out and I'm only running the one single main leaf. I also have everything pretty loose up front so there is no binding. Running a single leaf does come with it's problems. The bend easy if your not careful.
