Castle makes the ESC for them but it is s brushed only esc with drag brake, not the sidewinder. Still, it's made by castle so it's quality and a decent esc with drag is all these rigs really need. I do believe you can hook the esc up via castle link as well according to info I originally got from CC. This makes the honcho rtr one hell of a deal if you ask me. Yep, sidewinder based, brushed only, with casle link capability. I was told that straight from axial customer service a few days ago.

It's ok, ThunderbirdJunkie has LST parts on his Savage, XXX and XXX-T parts on his RC10B4 and SC10, T4 parts on his XXX-SCT, Losi parts on his SCX10, and T-maxx parts on his Aftershock with HPI parts on his Tamiyas. And almost all of them go BEEDLEDEEBOOP BEEP BEEP one goes BEEDLEDEEBOOP BEEP BEEP BEEP and soon one will go BEEDLEDEEBOOP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP So, you're in good company. No RC is perfect out of the box. |

It's usually done to keep the manufacturer's main customer (distributors) loyal, and a special treat to the ones that have usually been with them since the beginning. | |
